MLB tools: Matchup Analyzer, Pitch Mix, Lineup & Bullpen, Ballpark & weather

How to read the MLB pitcher vs batter tools on the player page, and what each color means.

Where are they?

Open any MLB player from Explore, from Player breakdown in the MLB menu on web, or by tapping a player in the app. The tools sit next to the Graph.

Matchup Analyzer

Each row compares the pitcher and the batter on one stat, ranked 1-99 (higher is better). Only your player's side is colored: green pushes the stat toward the Over, red toward the Under, grey means no clear edge.

Pitch Mix

Pitcher and batter stats by pitch type. Select a row to filter the percentile rankings above by that pitch. Green pushes the stat toward the Over, red toward the Under.

Lineup & Bullpen

  • Expected lineup: who's likely in the batting order.

  • Opposing bullpen: the relievers most likely to enter. PC L3 is pitch count over the last 3 games, REST is days since the last appearance.

Muted cells lean neither way. The bullpen isn't colored on pitcher props.

Ballpark & weather

The venue's HR and Runs factors plus the game's weather. The factors are context; only the Hitter Friendly / Pitcher Friendly label is colored, by how it pushes your stat.

Similar players

Similar shows how comparable players have done. For batters it compares them against the same starting pitcher, so it fills in once the probable pitcher is announced. Without enough matches it falls back to By Hand.

Free vs Premium

These tools need Premium. Free accounts get them on a few rotating free preview players, all from one upcoming game.
