MLB stats are often split by pitcher/batter handedness. PropsMadness shows both sides:

  • RHB / LHB - Right-Handed / Left-Handed Batter

  • vs RHP / vs LHP - A batter's stats against right- or left-handed pitching (e.g., BA vs LHP, ISO vs RHP)

  • vs RHB / vs LHB - A pitcher's stats against right- or left-handed batters (e.g., K% vs RHB)

Opponent & Matchup Metrics

Facing a pitcher (batter props): Opp SP stats rank the opposing starting pitcher league-wide as a percentile (1-99, higher = tougher matchup for opponents).

  • Opp SP BA / OBP / wOBA / ISO / BABIP Pctl - Where the starting pitcher ranks in each category

  • Opp SP K% / BB% / HR/9 / HR/FB% Pctl - Strikeout, walk and home-run-suppression percentiles

  • Each of the above is also split vs RHB / vs LHB

Facing a lineup (pitcher props): Opp Lineup stats show how the opposing hitters perform overall.

  • Opp K% / Whiff% / BB% Allowed - How often the lineup strikes out, whiffs or walks

  • Pitch Arsenal - The starting pitcher's pitch mix (fastball, slider, curveball, etc.) with usage % and results

All Leagues

Opponent Metrics

  • Opp D-Rank - How well a team defends overall. Lower rank = better defense.

  • Opp Allowed - How much the opponent allows for a stat. Lower = less allowed (tougher matchup).

  • Opp D-Rank vs Position - How the opponent defends the player's position for the selected stat.

  • Opp DefRtg - Opponent Defensive Rating (points allowed per 100 possessions, NBA/WNBA).

  • Opp Pace - Opponent's pace of play.

  • Opp [Stat] Allowed - How much of a stat the opponent gives up (e.g., Opp Pass Yds Allowed, Opp Rebounds Allowed).

  • Opp D-Rank vs DPT - How the opponent defends the player's dominant play type.

  • Opp D-Rank vs DSZ - How the opponent defends the player's dominant shot zone.

  • Opp Press Rate - Opponent's quarterback pressure rate (NFL).

  • Opp Sack Rate - Opponent's sack rate (NFL).

  • Opp RZ TD Allowed - Red zone touchdowns allowed by the opponent (NFL).

Important: Ranks run from 1 to the number of teams in the league: 1-30 for NBA and MLB, 1-32 for NFL, and 1 to the number of WNBA teams for WNBA. A higher number means the defense allows more. In the playoffs the scale can be shorter, since only playoff teams are ranked; MLB playoffs default to regular-season ranks. Ranks update after every game, and windows like L5 or L10 count games, not days.

Game Context & Splits

  • H2H - Head-to-Head (past games against the same opponent)

  • B2B - Back-to-Back (second game on consecutive days, NBA/WNBA)

  • Home / Away - Split by game location

  • Won By / Lost By - Filter games by margin of victory or defeat

  • Playoff / Regular Season - Filter by season type

Odds & Lines

  • Hit Rate - Share of games where the player went over the line shown on the graph.

  • Closing Line - The final line a sportsbook offers before the game. PropsMadness uses the sharpest available book (currently FanDuel for NBA).

  • Line - The number a sportsbook sets for a player prop (e.g., 24.5 points).

  • Over / Under - Betting that the player goes above or below the line.

  • Juice - The odds attached to a line (e.g., -110, -113): the price you pay to bet.

  • AVG DIFF - Average difference between the player's result and the line across games shown.

  • AVG DIFF % - The same, as a percentage.

  • PTS DIFF % - Percentage difference between the closing line and the result for a single game.

Graph & Dashboard

  • Blue Line - The advanced filter overlay tracking a selected metric (like USG% or Minutes) across every game on the graph.

  • Graph AVG - The average for games currently shown on the graph, based on your filters.

  • Season AVG - The full-season average for a stat, regardless of filters.

  • Diffs - The difference between the graph average and the filtered-out games average.

Explore & Research Tools

  • Explore - The whole slate in one table: every player's line, odds and hit rates for a market, with sorting, filters and columns.

  • Matchup Grade - A+ (soft spot) to F (tough spot) for how the matchup sets up for that player (NBA, WNBA, NFL).

  • SP Grade / Opp SP Grade - MLB grades from A+ to F for starting pitcher quality: SP Grade rates the starter, Opp SP Grade the opposing starter.

  • Suggested filters - The banner of filters picked for the market you're viewing. The # is the opponent's ranking; green pushes the stat toward the Over, red toward the Under. You choose which filters show and their order.

  • Implied probability - The chance a price implies (-110 is about 52.4%). Hit-rate colors are compared against it, so gray means neither side has an edge at that price.

  • Fantasy Score - A market that rolls a player's stats into one number using a fantasy app's scoring, shown per app (e.g. Fantasy Score (PrizePicks), Fantasy Score (Underdog)).

  • Matchup radar - NFL chart comparing a player with the opposing defense stat by stat. Green shading means the player sits above the defense on that stat; red means the defense does. Includes fantasy markets by position.

  • Opportunity Share / Target Share - NFL breakdown of a player's share of targets, red zone and end zone targets, first-read targets, carries, routes and rushing. Opportunity Share on the web, Target Share in the app.

  • Cheat sheet - The weekly NFL matchup cheat sheet, free with no account: defense ranks 1-32, where #32 allows the most.

Bet Tracking

  • Units - Bets are tracked in units (or dollars, if you set a unit value). One unit is your standard stake.

  • Bet to risk / Bet to win - To risk: your stake is what you put up. To win: your stake is set so the bet wins that amount.

  • ROI - Return on investment: net profit divided by total risked.

  • CLV - Closing line value: how the price you took compares with where the market closed.
